This multipurpose commercial project in Puerto Rico integrates a café, Bergendecker pastry shop, and multiple business functions under a single unified architectural identity. The design is defined by a distinctive black-themed roof, creating a strong visual character while unifying the diverse programs beneath it.
The project is designed as a recreational destination for visitors, offering a comfortable and engaging environment enhanced by natural daylight during the daytime and a carefully curated lighting experience at night. The interplay of light, shadow, and architectural form creates a welcoming atmosphere that encourages social interaction and relaxation.
One of the key challenges of this project was accommodating multiple functions—including commercial spaces, a garage, parking facilities, and a market area—within a limited site. Through efficient space planning and strategic zoning, maximum use of available space was achieved without compromising functionality, circulation, or user comfort.
Overall, the project successfully balances commercial efficiency with experiential design, providing a vibrant, nature-connected space that supports diverse businesses while enhancing the visitor experience throughout the day and night.
